A-Z OF HOW TO MAKE A SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE

A TO Z OF HOW TO MAKE
 YOUR
MARRIAGE SUCCESSFUL
by Femi Obadun

Avoid Alcohol and hard drugs.
Alcoholic drink is a mocker! The use of hard drugs has destroyed many homes and marriages. Marriage survives in an atmosphere of reasonableness i.e where both parties must be humane indeed and sensible in all their actions. But the one who takes to strong drinks and or drugs has left the realm of right reasoning into the realm of madness. There is hardly any marriage that can survive the sting of these vices. Therefore, if any of the parties or both are guilty of this, they should as a matter of urgency seek deliverance in the house of God, Alcohol and hard drugs are sub - agents of darkness invented with the sole aim of truncating the flow of sound thoughts and ultimately resulting in disjointed lifestyle. Many have not created altar of prayers in their homes but rather an altar of wine and strong drinks called the “mini bar” and whenever a small argument erupts between them, the next move is to go there and bow to that god of strong drink. This is what is written in Proverbs 23.31-33’’do not look on the wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it swells around smoothly, at the last it bites like a serpent and stings like a viper, your eyes will see strange things, and your heart will utter perverse things.

Beating Blocks Blessings
God first created the man and later gave him the woman for a help meet. The institution of marriage which has survived till this point is built on that same principle which God intended for it from the beginning. The giving of the first woman to Adam by God signified great blessings to him, therefore any treatment that is short of love and pure affection to this divine gift will automatically attract displeasure from the Giver. Maltreatment of your spouse is a clear show of ingratitude to the creator of that institution. I want spouses to see marriage as a place of learning, no one is perfect yet and no one will ever be till death do them part. When two parties come from different backgrounds, different upbringings, exposures and tastes to be joined together in marriage, they should know that they have also both began a fresh course of learning from each other in what can be described as an adult class. And I don’t think that scolding, punishment and beating apply here, o man! Yes, I do know that provocation from the either the man or the woman may arise sometimes,, but in spite of that, that should never result in assaulting and maltreatment of each other. Though it is a hard saying but i feel that if a man raises his hands up to beat the woman,He may just be bringing down his own glory unknowingly. No man who has ever done that to a woman can say that he felt so nice afterward, the guilt feeling would always come because in the realm of the spiritual, a vital rule of marital life has been broken.

I pray for anyone who may be going through a tough experience in his or her marriage this moment that the power of the holy ghost will breakthrough into that marriage and bring calmness in Jesus name.I pray that Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace comes into your home now and change everything for the best in Jesus name amen. You shall have a testimony in Jesus name amen.
