5 P's OF RECEIVING AND RETAINING THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST by Femi Obadun

Without the baptism of the Holy Ghost, no one can enjoy the Christian life. Here are the 5 P's to be considered in order to receive the power and retain it after the person had accepted Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Saviour.
1.PROMISE
The one who seeks the baptism must know that it is the promise of the Father to all those who have come to believe in Christ(Joel.2.28-29) and that God does not slack concerning his promises. The person must allow this fact to sink deep into his/her spirit and thus approach God in that confidence.
2.POSITIONING
Before the day of Pentecost fully arrived in Acts chapter 2,about 120 followers of Christ assembled in one place at the upper room. That is positioning, you must make yourself available in the place where they believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost. You must flow in the same spirit as the people who seek the same blessing. The word of God says that we should not forsake the assembling of one another.(Heb 10.25)
3.PERSEVERANCE
Those who were baptized in the day of Pentecost waited for 10 days for it.They believed the promise, they believed that God would not fail them. They waited patiently with prayers, keeping their faith and hope alive. They never allowed distraction or discouragement to stop them from receiving the blessing.Though it is not a rule that one must wait for 10 days, but the fact is that you must wait continually until you receive the blessing. It might take a shorter time or even longer.
4.PROCLAMATION
After the Holy Ghost came down like a mighty rushing wind and they were refreshed and comforted,Peter stood up and announced the arrival of the grace and they immediately commenced witnessing about the spirit of truth. The way to keep the fire of the Holy Ghost burning in our lives is to keep witnessing of his reality and power.
5.PRESERVATION
Jesus Christ promised that when the Holy Ghost comes, that he shall serve as comforter to the believers. The Holy Ghost helps our infirmities whenever we are weak. The Holy Ghost helps us to pray sometimes when we don't even know the direction that our prayers should follow(Romans 8.26).In this way,We are preserved as believers and keep going in the spirit of the Lord and we can be thus kept till we finish our race.
