Most Rev. Mathew Audu, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Lafia, Nasarawa State,Nigeria on Saturday 29 April 2016 in Masaka wedded 109 couples and urged in-laws not to interfere in their affairs. Audu, who was on his third pastoral visit to St. Martin`s Catholic Church, Masaka, appealed to relatives of the new couples to allow them to build their marriages.

“As newly wedded couples, you must love each other just as Christ Jesus loved the church and died to set souls free. “You must respect each other’s feelings; care for each other, share views and reason together in peace and unity. “You must not allow a third party to come into your matter; always invite God to intervene in your case.“Ensure that you are coordinated in all your dealings and make the word of God your standard, your pillar, your faith and your hope.

Christians should prefer burial rather than cremation based on what the Bible says about the human body in relation to God and resurrection, John Piper advises.
Piper, who serves as the chancellor of Bethlehem College & Seminary in Minnesota and founder/teacher of DesiringGod.org, wrote in a recent blog post that he hopes Christian readers will lean toward burial instead of cremation, not as a command but rather as a preference.
"I say preferable, not commanded, in the hope that the culture created would not condemn or ostracize a person who chose differently. I encourage those who choose cremation not to equate our disapproval with ostracism. Otherwise, real disagreements are not possible among friends," Piper writes.The pastor points to several Bible verses that discuss the glorification of the human body, and how we should treat our bodies as God's dwelling, God's purchase, God's possession, and God's glory, both in life and death.

DOES THE BIBLE SAY THAT WOMEN ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BE PREACHERS OR HOLD LEADERSHIP POSITION IN THE CHURCH? by Femi Obadun

'Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church'.1 Corinthians 14:34-35(KJV) 

The same Paul who wrote the above letter to the Corinthians also wrote to them in 1 Corinthians 11.5 thus ' 'But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven'.

In the new testament the gift of prophesy is not the same as one occupying the office of a prophet or a seer as it was common in the old testament.In the analysis of the gifts of the spirit in 1 Corinthian 14,It is quite clear that the gift of prophesy is the same as the gift of preaching.In order word,gift of prophesy is also known as gift of preaching or teaching.

Now if that is the case,does it mean that Paul the Apostle was contradicting himself by recognizing that a woman can preach or teach (pray or prophesy) according to 1 Corinthians 11.5 and that the same woman is not permitted to speak in the church according to 1 Corinthians 14.34-35? Paul did not contradict himself at all,it is only some people who have simply refused to search the scriptures in-dept that have misunderstood the Apostle.

If the man has been a regular church goer before now,i wonder why he had never considered giving his life to Christ,for a life that is given to Christ sees more to life than continuing to raise kids.After 3 or 4 children ,what else should one be asking for again? An Apapa Magistrate’s Court sitting in Lagos state on Friday remanded one James Obinna, a driver of commercial bus (better known as Danfo) in prison for allegedly beating his wife, Ebere to coma over claims that she refused to bear more children after having three kids.
The victim, a street hawker, had refused to get pregnant for her husband again after three kids. According to her, the harsh economic situation does not warrant having many children that they cannot adequately cater for. Obinna, who hails from Enugu state, was said to taken offence at her insistence and pounced on her. The incident reportedly happened at 26 Babatunde street, Olodi Apapa, where the couple resides. Obinna, who could not provide the basic necessities of life for his family, forced his wife to resort to street hawking to support his meagre income in taking care of the family.

In spiritual battles, every battle or challenge must be fought with almost equal energy and if so, the victory so obtained must also be seen as big regardless of the degree of fierceness of such battles. If the opposition seems weaker and less sophisticated than you, do not underrate it and thereby approach the battle casually or conversely if the opposition seems stronger and more experienced with sophisticated weapons, yet, do not overrate it and thus, face the battle with cold feet.
However, you are not advised to waste so much of your resources and energy in facing a less formidable opposition if your team seems to be the bigger opposition. Winning battles has less to do with the vastness or sophistication of the resources you can employ but much to do with your attitude, belief and disposition. When you underrate the opposition in your spirit despite your enormous resources, your entire system goes to sleep, and you may be defeated surprisingly and conversely, when you approach a more formidable opposition with a high and dogged spirit of determination, your entire system stay awake to fight the war and an unexpected victory could be yours.

No! Pastor Adeboye, Your Approach is Wrong!
Two nights ago, I took a break from research work, decided to watch news on local television and catch up with goings-on in the polity. After the news, I was not quite enjoying an old movie flick, ‘Broken Arrow’ featuring John Travolta and Christian Slater, being shown on one of the stations and decided to flip to another station. My remote control took me to the 61st Annual Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and I was just too happy to catch up with the Convention in my living room. Anointing can be anywhere, if faith is exuded like the Centurion.

Then before sermon, General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Adeboye made a special announcement. The church is to build a new auditorium, stretching 3km in length and width, and four times the size of the present auditorium, to accommodate many more parishioners, before next year’s convention. Everyone was naturally excited, particularly those who get to camp ground late and cannot be seated in the present auditorium. Then Pastor Adeboye shocked me with the following pronouncement:

COLOMBIA LEGALIZES SAME SEX MARRIAGE,MAKING THE FOURTH COUNTRY IN LATIN AMERICA TO DO THAT.WHAT A CRAZY THING!

Colombia’s top court has legalised same-sex marriage, making the country the fourth in Latin America to do so.
Gay couples were already allowed to form civil partnerships, but Thursday’s ruling extends them the same marriage rights as heterosexual couples.
Earlier this month the constitutional court dismissed a judge’s petition against equal marriage rights for heterosexual and homosexual couples.
Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay have previously legalized same-sex marriage.Argentina was the first Latin American country to take the step in July 2010.
In Mexico, gay marriage is legal in the capital and in certain states.

Nearly two weeks after a Chinese pastor and his wife were buried alive defending their church from destruction, local authorities have ruled in favor of the Protestant house church’s claim to its land.
After a local business wanted to take over the property that Beitou Church in Zhumadian sat on, a government-backed demolition crew was sent to destroy the church. And when the pastor, Li Jiangong, and his wife, Ding Cuimei, stepped in front of a bulldozer, it didn’t stop.
“Bury them alive for me,” a member of the demolition team said, according to China Aid which reported both the tragic incident and the ensuing legal victory. “I will be responsible for their lives.”
China Aid Ding's son stands next to where her body is being stored. The couple were shoved into a pit and covered with dirt, according to China Aid. Li manage to free himself. But before he could dig his wife out, Ding suffocated.

WHEN YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING 4 SIGNS, THEN IT MIGHT BE NECESSARY FOR YOU TO TRANSFER TO ANOTHER CHURCH

There is a reason why God designed Christians to exist in communities, and that’s because we grow best when we are surrounded by a group of believers who build us up in the faith. Nowadays, there are so many churches that Christians can be a part of and the issue is no longer “Should I go to church?” but rather “Which church should I go to?” 
There is nothing wrong with transferring to a different church if done for reasons that do not involve offense, hurt and unhealthy disagreement with leadership. In fact, sometimes God calls believers to a new season to be a blessing in another church. How can we know when it’s time to transfer to another church? Here are just a few cases that I’ve encountered that could be signs that it’s time to move to a new church community.
1. When God is calling you to
Whether God calls you to move to a smaller church to share your skills there, transfer to a closer church when God gives you a new job opportunity in the other corner of town or marry someone from a different church and attend his or her church, we must trust and obey that God knows where He wants us to serve and grow. Often it’s hard to let go of existing friends and cultures in your current church, but when God says “Go” believe that He will give you the strength to do so.

When good leaders are in place,the people must feel the impact.When goal - oriented leaders are in place,it is easier for people to make plans.When dogged leaders are in place, development is bound to happen.Everyone is impressed at the recent order by the Governor of Kaduna state Nigeria to all hospitals in the state to treat victims of gunshot and accidents first before asking for police reports.While listening to a radio program earlier today wherein the matter was being discussed,many caller revealed that many people had died as a result of the way and manner in which Hospital officials treat victims of accidents and gunshot.We hope that the rest of the states in Nigeria and other developing countries especially in Africa will also consider this policy and adopt.

Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has directed all hospitals in the state to treat persons with gun wounds and accident victims before demanding police reports.
The governor said that the duty to save lives was primary and must come ahead of formal reports to the police.Spokesman to the Governor, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this in a statement shortly after the 15th Kaduna State Security Council meeting held at the Kaduna government house on Thursday.

God desires that we grow spiritually and the agent of this growth is His word. (Proverbs 4:18,1Peter 2:2). He is concerned when we don’t grow.
However, we live in times when our parameters for measuring spiritual growth as Christians are to a large extent distorted. Often times, we judge progress on our spiritual journey based on the physical; material acquisitions, worldly acclaim and fame, financial prosperity, sizes of congregations, programs and activities etc. Nothing can be more confusing. Good as these may be, they are not always a true sign of spiritual growth and progress.
Paul the Apostle encountered Jesus Christ in a very spectacular way on the road to Damascus and he hit the ground running leaving no one in doubt as to his zeal and commitment to the divine assignment. He trod where others feared to peep.

At a prayer meeting in Acts 13:1-4, as Saul and others ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, “Separate unto me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them”. Thereafter, hands were laid on them and they were sent forth (by the Holy Ghost)

A synagogue in Marseille, France, is being closed as the Jewish community that once supported it has left the neighborhood. Instead, the building will soon be reopened as a mosque, catering to the area's growing Muslim community.
The French daily La Provence reported this week that the al-Badr Association, a Muslim organization, had paid about $450,000 for the Or Thora synagogue, located near the Saint-Charles train station. Local Jewish leader Zvi Ammar later confirmed the news to Agence France-Presse, adding that the sale should be viewed "positively."

"We all have the same God. The main thing is for this to proceed in harmony," Ammar said.

The Or Thora synagogue had a long history in Marseille. It had been founded after Jews from Algeria immigrated to Marseille in 1962, following that country's successful war for independence. While the synagogue had thrived over the years, the number of members had now declined: The building had a capacity of about 250, but just a handful of worshipers was visiting it before it closed.

On the weekends, he travelled the country playing volleyball as part of a national league.“One of the French ideals of my age is to have feminine conquests,” he told CBN. He felt no guilt about his unrestrained sexuality.

But in the midst of his carefree lifestyle, God unexpectedly broke into his life through an unplanned encounter.
On vacation with his brother on the island of St. Maarten in the Caribbean, they decided to hitchhike home from the beach. “A car pulled over. Two young women visiting from America were lost and needed directions to their hotel. Incidentally, it was right next to our house, so they gave us a ride,” Bignon told Christianity Today.

SUCCESS IN LIFE REQUIRES FOLLOWING THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT by Femi Obadun

What determines whether a man would be successful or not in any chosen field is the type of spirit he follows. Man is created to be spirit; soul, and body, the soul and body have more interactions with each other often more than they both have with the spirit. God created us with a sense of reasoning, the seat of knowledge i.e the mind or the brain. There are constant interactions or reactions between the psyche (mind or brain) and the body (somatic). Whenever you feel any pain due to external forces or action like drawing fire near your body, the signal is sent through your central nervous system (CNS) which comprises of your brain and spinal cords to the concern center of your brain and thereafter sent back to the body for possible action, in this case your brain would tell you to move away from the fire else you get burnt! All this happens within split second. 

This is an example of what goes on constantly between the psyche and your body. Countless of such signals are received daily. The Rev. Billy Graham warns Christians not to fall prey to their boss’ inappropriate advances in a recent “My Answers” post on the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association‘s website.

Responding to a question regarding a married boss’ “uncomfortable” advances in the workplace, Graham says employees must “firmly and clearly” let the employer know that their behavior is neither appropriate nor welcome.

“You should not do anything to encourage him or give him an excuse to break up his marriage. The Bible is clear: ‘If sinful men entice you, do not give in to them. … Do not set foot on their paths,’ Proverbs 1:10, 15,” Graham says.

The famed preacher goes on to say that while it might be tempting to comply with the demands of a superior, the only way to end the inappropriate behavior is to address it directly.

“I know it might be difficult for someone in your position to resist your boss — but the only way to deal with this is directly and without compromise. If you don’t, he may only get more and more insistent — and it will become even harder to resist his advances,” the Baptist minister explains. “Let him know — firmly and clearly — that while you value your job, his attitude toward you must stop.”

The scanner can identify the molecular structure of a substance by shining an infrared light on an object and reading its chemical makeup. It can then send additional information to a smartphone. An Israeli start-up has launched a pocket device which analyses instantly the composition of food, drink, medication or other objects. Consumer Physics says its SCiO tool sends data on the chemical makeup of a substance to the user’s smartphone, where a variety of applications will present the results. It is “the first molecular sensor that fits in the palm of your hand,” says Dr  Sharon, co-founder of the firm based in Hod Hasharon, near Tel Aviv.
Users will be able to see how many calories are in the burger on their plate, what is in their drink, or if that jacket is really leather.The SCiO, on the market since last month, does not need physical contact with the substance being tested because it uses a beam of light in what is known as Near Infrared Spectroscopy.Each molecule interacts with light to create a unique optical signature, which can reveal an object’s chemical properties, such as moisture, fat or sugar content.
