TO BE RICH AND WRETCHED SAME TIME - by Femi Obadun

15} I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
¹⁶ So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
¹⁷ Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

The above was Christ's chastisement to the Laodecian church.They had many rich people among them and that made them to become so lukewarm.They were not spending time in prayers anymore.They were not trusting God for their provisions anymore.They have become proud.They have become solely dependent on their wealth.This message is still very relevant to today's believers.There is a particular church in Nigeria named Mountain of fire and miracles,it was in this church that i met Christ during one of their deliverance services in 2009.Before i went to that church,one of my friends once told me that the people who go to that church are those who have problems.You can imagine the mentality of that man.He was not a church goer,because he had a good job and to him, because he felt that he was comfortable,he had no need of the grace of God in his life.I don't know if he had changed  his ways now. Many who still manage to be active in church activities but who are comfortable should know that in riches or poverty,we must depend on the grace of God for our sustenance.In health or in sickness,we must equally depend on God for the sustenance of our health.We must not be like the Laodecian church who though that they were rich in goods, but in the eyes of God, they were indeed wretched.
