HIS PASTOR TOLD HIM THAT HE HAD THE POWER WITHIN TO RAISE THE DEAD,HE ATTEMPTED IT AND HE DID RAISE THE DEAD-Femi Obadun on the story of Late Archibishop Benson Idahosa

Believe the word of God,believe your Pastor and so shall you prosper. The Bible says in 2 Chronicles 20.20 thus ''Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper''.

Several months ago, I interviewed a pastor in Church of God mission, the church which was founded by the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa. The following is an excerpt from that encounter.

What inspired him most was the consciousness of the ability in him to raise the dead. His Pastor taught him that he had that ability; he kept reaffirming it to him that as a Christian, he could raise the dead. Pointing to him in particular that the power within him could do it, and so the young Apostle of faith picked it up from there with the faith like that of a little child who would never doubt any promise that his parent made to him. He believed his pastor hook, line and sinker. Curiously, the late Bishop asked the pastor if he had ever raised
the dead before. To this, his pastor replied No, but encouraged him that that should never deter him from believing that he could do it. Therefore, Bishop Idahosa, with fire in his bones that he could do the impossible, moved out with a determined and unflinching faith, climbed his bicycle and started riding from one street to the other desperately in search of dead body to wake up. Wherever he got to and asked such a queer question, they would reply him thus: what do you want to do with the dead? Do you want to eat it or what? On a particular day, he moved round to so many streets in Benin city from morning till afternoon and got to a house where a young girl of about 12 years old had just died, and everyone was crying. Upon confirmation that the young girl had actually died, he told them assuredly that he would bring her back to life. To this incredible proposal, they laughed him to scorn, doubting vehemently his ability to achieve that feat. After much insistence from, they agreed and then asked him to go in and pray for the person. He entered and prayed earnestly, but no sign of good result. However, with the never give up attitude of his, he resolved to adopt Jesus’ style and so asked permission that he be left alone with the dead body in the room where it was lain. The parents also were asked to leave the room, he prayed continually, still the dead did not come to life, then he went back to ask the people the name of the girl which they told him was IWUATA. He entered again into the room and shouted, IWUATA COME FORTH! And the dead sneezed and came back to life! He presented the girl life to the parents. This is the account of the first dead that the man of God raised.
