A typical Buddhist Temple |
The Church of England has come under fire.It has emerged that a senior clergyman at York Minster has introduced Zen Buddhist meditation into their offered services.
York Minster is one of the U.K.'s best-known cathedrals and offers daily prayer and choral worship.
Fortnightly meetings for Zen meditation were quietly introduced two years ago, following the suggestion of Rev. Canon Dr. Christopher Collingwood, who claims to be a longtime enthusiast of the Buddhist practice and has described himself as "religiously bilingual."
Now no one can be religiously bilingual,no one can serve two masters. No one can serve God and mammon the same time. The practice of Buddhist concentrates on the breath as the source of inspiration, while the practice of Christianity concentrates on the Holy Spirit as the source of inspiration. These are two different belief systems.Though the holy spirit is also referred to as the Paraclete which means ' breathe', yet it is a person, the third person of the trinity. The Buddhist does not see breath as a person, rather as a mere phenomenon.Dear friends,We must never allow adulteration into our pure worship of the most high God in the name of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit as our comforter and teacher.
