60 YEAR OLD WOMAN CANED 30 TIMES FOR SELLING ALCOHOL UNDER SHARIA LAW

MY COMMENT
Sharia Law ought to be binding only on Muslims who believe in it, but in this case both Christians and Muslims are tried under this Law. In Christianity,we are in the period of grace and even if punishment should be meted out to defaulters,it should not necessarily be this kind.This kind is cruel and wicked according to the pure Christian conscience.Our Lord gave us a guide on how to deal with defaulters like this under this dispensation of grace.In John 8.1-11 a woman was caught in the very act of Adultery and so she was brought to Jesus and demanded that she be stoned to death in accordance to Moses's law.But our Lord probed their consciences and asked that he who does not sin should cast the first stone, this reaction of Christ made everyone of them to leave the woman and so the woman was given another chance.They were all guilty of one sin or the other.Again the Lord teaches us in Luke 6.42 thus 'Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye. Before we judge and condemn others, we must examine our own lives and judge our own consciences first.God bless you.
